Thermal printer installation on Windows 11

1) Connect and turn on the printer

If your printer includes an installation guide, follow it and then continue to the next step to share it. If it does not have a guide or does not work even with the manufacturer's instructions, follow these steps. Remember to turn on the printer and connect it with its USB cable.

First, connect the printer to a USB port on the garage computer where tickets will be printed and turn it on.

2) Add printer

In the Start menu, search for and choose Printers & scanners.

Search for printers and scanners

Click Add device.

Add device

Wait until the option The printer that I want isn't listed appears, then click it.

Add printer manually

A new window will open. There, choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.

3) Choose the USB port where the printer is connected

Now, for the port, choose USB... followed by a number. If you have more devices, you may need to try them one by one; otherwise, select the only one available.

Choose USB port

After selecting the port, click Next.

4) Generic driver

On the next screen you will see a list of drivers. Look for Generic and, on the right, select Generic Text Only. Finally, click Next.

5) Assign a name

Now it asks for the name. We recommend not using spaces or special characters. By default, the ideal name is ImpresoraTermica. If you choose another name, you can later enter it in the garage settings in AdminParking.

After assigning the name, click Next.

Assign printer name

Now wait a moment while it installs.

7) Share printer

Once the printer is installed, search for and choose Printers & scanners in the Start menu. Click the printer you want to share. That will take you to Printer settings; there, click Printer properties.

Go to the Sharingtab and, if Share this printer is disabled, enable it by clicking Change sharing options.

After sharing is enabled, check Share this printer and enter the same name using only letters, with no spaces. It must have the same name as your printer. Finally, click OK.

Share printer

Finally, click OK and the installation is complete.

8) Download plugin

To print from AdminParking, you need to download a plugin. In this link you will find the steps to follow.
